began my career in pin-up, fetish, and alt-porn modeling, and was quickly signed to a contract with couples-oriented adult film studio Digital Playground. During my first year performing in hardcore sex scenes, I was awarded Best New Starlet by AVN and Xbiz, and the Venus Berlin eLine Award for Best U.S. Newcomer. At the height of my career as a performer, the Village Voice ran a cover story on me with the headline “The Prettiest Girl in New York is a Porn Star”, and my episode of artist Clayton Cubitt’s video series Hysterical Literature was on display in the Massachusetts MOMA for several months. 

I maximized the opportunities porn offered to explore my sexuality and learn about sex, and later co-founded production studio and web portal TrenchcoatX with contract sister and fellow Fleshlight Girl Kayden Kross. My follow-up project in the adult space, ZeroSpaces, was more experimental, and less financially successful, but just as fun—it explored various individual facets of sexuality in multimedia deep dives.

I began writing professionally about sexuality and pornography in 2012 and have had bylines in the Guardian, the New York Times, Playboy, VICE, and Reason, and have been co-writing Slate’s How To Do It sex advice column since 2019. My first book, Philosophy, Pussycats, and Porn has been translated into three languages. James Reith’s review for the Guardian said, “She casually drops one-liners that could be essays in themselves.” And she continues her journalistic memoir-style work on StoyaStack, hosted on Substack.

I have completed multiple certifications in sexuality, and now practice as a sex coach. I live in Southeastern Europe, surrounded by books about sexuality and communication, and am not quite sure what to do with the massive lingerie collection I have amassed throughout my career.
